Highlights

Successfully built a world-class design team at Kuali. Recently told by three members of the design team: “This is the best design team I’ve worked on.” Continuously served as an advocate for holistic customer experience and regular user testing as a competitive differentiator. Redesigned a product that is beloved by customers and has served as a strategic pivot for the entire company.

Was recruited to Vivint Solar (now SunRun) as a Creative Director. While there, was tasked to organize a pilot effort to fundamentally fix problems with the customer experience on the ground. Used Lean manufacturing principles to quickly identify and deliver a solution to the problem.

Served as the principal designer on Ancestry’s mobile products as well as on the first major redesign of Ancestry.com in 15 years. The goal of the new release was to increase adoption and satisfaction among non-enthusiast customers. It has achieved that goal (35% conversion improvement) and continues to grow that much larger base every quarter.

Built and ran an internal research and development team within FamilySearch. Created a new product and used rapid prototyping to test everything from product design to advertising and branding. Successfully increased new customer conversion rates and the work was adopted as the new strategic direction for the entire organization.

Designed an iOS calendar app (Calvetica) which became one of the most popular calendar apps on the platform before being sold. App was well received by top reviewers including Daring Fireball and many others.

Built a local bakery brand (RubySnap) from scratch including naming, identity, packaging, storefront and all web properties. Assisted in helping the company move into retail sales. Local supermarket chain Harmon’s reported that RubySnap was their fastest selling local brand ever.
